Apipharma purchases products of plant and animal origin from registered individual manufacturers – subcontractors only.
Manufacturers must register their farms while beekeepers must register their basic swarms with competent municipal authorities or the Croatian Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. |
We purchase the following products:
- healing herbs - Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench – freshly picked plant
- healing herbs - Tormentillae rhizoma – dried tormentil root, chopped
- healing herbs - Althaeae radix – dried and cleaned root, chopped
- apian products – bulk honey
- apian products - propolis in lumps or small pieces
- apian products – Royal Jelly – fresh

Our subcontractors who supply high-quality products to our production have already covered other products.
All purchased products are subject to quality controls, which are carried out by the Public Health Institute in accordance with legal provisions. Consequently, all products possess appropriate attestations. Only products grown on fields far away from industrial polluters are used in our production. The products must not contain pesticides, traces of artificial fertilizers and heavy metals, particularly residues of medicines and agents used in treatment of diseased crops or animals.
If subcontractors do not comply with these restrictions, their subcontracts are immediately terminated, and they suffer legal and material consequences in the event of any damage. |
There are two ways of entering into a limited number of subcontracts with Apipharma:
The first one comprises a classical subcontract, which guarantees a purchase of certain products under market purchase prices. Such subcontracts define purchase quantities, quality classification, conformity with health standards, terms of payment, and distribution of bonuses, if applicable
.
The second one involves cooperation by way of regular employment, which last exclusively for the period within a subcontractor delivers the contracted products. A subcontractor has all the rights deriving from labor relations with the company. He himself defines his gross salary according to the quantity of delivered goods. The amount exceeding the salary is accounted for and paid periodically during the accounting period. Apipharma uses this subcontracting model for makers of honey, propolis and royal jelly only.
